Work History
Staked as Ralph cl 1-4 (Y90119) in Aug/74 by Dynasty Explorations Ltd on the basis of geochemical silt sampling and preliminary prospecting carried out earlier in the year. In Sep/74 the company carried out detailed prospecting, geochemical soil sampling, hand trenching and rock sampling on the claims.
Restaked as Bou cl 1-4 (YC19930) in Apr/2000 by S. Ryan who carried out prospecting and limited geochemical soil sampling later that year.
Capsule Geology
Secondary iron, zinc and lead minerals principally forming limonite occur as gossanous float trains and subcroppings along a north-northeast trending ridge crest underlayen by Upper Cambrian to Lower Devonian dolostone. Soil samples collected parallel to the strike of the ridge, on the gossanous zone, returned 46 to 18 500 ppm Pb with 60 to 14 800 ppm Zn. Trenching and chip sampling of the most intensely gossanous part of the zone returned 0.09 % Pb with 3.18 % Zn and 0.06 % Pb with 2.74 % Zn over two continuous 3.05 m sections composed of massive slabs of limonite. No primary sulfide mineralization was exposed.
Resampling in 2000 served to confirm the anomalous nature of the gossanous zone and analysis of a wider suite elements revealed that the soils in this area were also anomalous in silver and cadmium (peak values of 6.2 ppm and 25.0 ppm, respectively). Prospecting along the ridge top failed to detect any extension of the previously delineated zone.
