Work History
The first record of staking in this area was in Jan/64 when H.C. Fromme staked Jean cl 31-36 (85839) 2.5 km northwest of the occurrence location marker. The claims were subsequently optioned to New Imperial Mines Ltd, which carried out magnetometer surveying in 1965.
The occurrence was staked as Emil and Ann cl (91218) by Quatsino Copper-Gold ML in Nov/64, which carried out trenching in 1965 and 1967 and IP surveying in Jun/68 outlined two anomalies. Three holes were drilled (337.7 m) in Oct-Nov/68.
About 1.6 km southeast, Quinalta Pet L staked the Peter & Pat cl (85815) in Dec/63. An interest was later transferred to a subsidiary, Fleetwood Res L and a 1/3 interest was assigned to Dawn Pet L for financing work, which consisted of mapping and limited geophysical surveys in 1966 and 1968. The claims were sold to H. Larson in 1969.
Approximately 1 km to the west, J. McInroy staked the Rip cl (YB38233) in Aug/93.
Capsule Geology
Two anomalies were outlined by I.P. surveying, later drilling intersected quartz-hornblende diorite of the Whitehorse Stock, containing narrow argillite and greywacke bands of the Lewes River group. Only traces of pyrite, chalcopyrite and magnetite are present and skarn development is very weak.
