Work History
Staked as C cl 1-6 (Y57495) in Aug/70 and C cl 7-42 (57601) in Sep/70 by Dawson Syndicate (Silver Standard Mines Ltd and Asarco Exploration Company of Canada Ltd), which explored by grid soil sampling, mapping and hand trenching in 1971 and additional soil sampling and an EM survey in 1972.
Restaked as SC cl 1-36 (YA29624) and Bridget cl 1-2 (YA29793) in May/78 by N. Burmeister for Somex Ventures Ltd. In Jun/79 Burmeister staked Bridget cl 3-10 (YA32590) and cl 11-16 (YA32598) overtop the expired SC claims and optioned the claims to Amax of Canada Ltd. Amax performed geological mapping, geochemical sampling, hand trenching and IP surveys in 1980.
Restaked as Bridget cl 1-8 (YC35402) in Nov/2004 by S. Ryan who carried out prospecting and a regional soil sampling program in Aug/2005. Ryan staked Bridget cl 9-40 (YC84292) in Oct/2008 and carried out a detailed magnetometer and soil sampling program over the central portion of the claim block.
In Dec/2010 S. Ryan staked Bridget cl 41-90 (YD130301). In Feb/2011 S. Ryan staked Pedlar cl 1-728 (YD138501) to the west and southwest and Cripple cl 1-291 (YD135901) to the south and east (Yukon Minfile #115J 093). On Mar/ 2, 2011 Ethos Capital Corp optioned a 100% interest in Ryan’s Bridget, Pedlar and Cripple claim groups. The company also optioned Ryan’s U Claims located 6 km to the south (Minfile Occurrence #115J 093) and W claims located 8.5 km to the southeast (Minfile Occurrence #115J 073). Together these claims were named the Bridget property.
In Apr/2011 Ethos Capital staked Cripple cl 761-957 (YD139229) and cl 292-760 (YE18032) and Pedlar cl 729-994 (YE20501). During the 2011 field season the company flew airborne magnetic and radiometric surveys over the property followed by reconnaissance scale soil sampling, prospecting and geological mapping programs. Later in the season ground magnetics, trenching and detailed soil sampling was carried out on selected targets.
GEOLOGY
The area was reconnaissance mapped by D. Templeman-Kluit in 1974. The Yukon Geological Survey is re-mapping the area but no public results have been released. Gordey and Makepeace (2003) of the Geological Survey of Canada released a geological compilation which covered this area. Ryan and Gordey of the Geological Survey of Canada remapped the Stewart River area to the north in the early 2000's and released a geology map in 2004. A year later they released a compilation map of the same area which differed slightly from the earlier map due to revisions related to newly disclosed age dating results. M. Colpron of the Yukon Geological Survey released a tectonic assemblage map of the Yukon-Tanana in 2006 which included this area.
The property area is covered by extensive tree and brush cover making access and geological mapping difficult at best. Based on limited geological mapping conducted by Amax around the occurrence area, the area is underlain by sequence of quart-mica schists and marble interlayered with orthogneiss of a probable granitic protolith. The age of the sequence is somewhat in dispute with various geologists suggesting a Devonian to Mississippian age for some units and a Permian age for others. A more accurate age determination will have to await the results of airborne geophysics and age dating and the completion of current geological mapping efforts. The sequence appears to be intruded by numerous small Early Jurassic (?) granitic intrusions and Eocene felsic porphyries. The marble unit is frequently altered to skarn by the intrusions.
Silver Standard Mines originally outlined traces of chalcopyrite, molybdenite, pyrite and magnetite in quartz veins cutting highly sheared quartz-mica schist and granodiorite gneiss and in weak skarn alteration near the margins of quartz monzonite dykes. Soil sampling outlined a molybdenum and copper soil anomaly. The restaking by Amax was prompted by anomalous tungsten values from reanalysis of sample splits, but detailed work showed that tungsten content is very low. The IP and magnetic surveys showed a broad response that appears unrelated to copper and molybdenum values. Soil sampling by Amax outlined a 300 by 600 m coincident copper-molybdenum anomaly that is open to the south.
S. Ryan staked his Bridget claims to follow-up on Amax's copper-molybdenum soil anomaly. The regional survey successfully identified a potential copper-molybdenum soil anomaly with bismuth and tungsten values. The 2008 exploration program was partially funded through the Yukon Mining Incentive Program (YMIP). Prospecting and rock sampling by Ryan correlated well with results obtain by Silver Standard and Amax. Soil sampling outlined a coincident molybdenum-copper soil anomaly centered over the central portion of the claim block. Bismuth and tungsten values tend to flank the main molybdenum-copper anomaly. Gold values were extremely low with only 11 samples returning over 14 ppb gold, with the highest returning 62 ppb gold. The magnetic survey revealed two regional trending northwest-southeast magnetic highs centered over the top and bottom portions of the property and separated by a large magnetic low.
As of Jan/2012, Ethos Capital has not publically released any results for the Bridget property.
