Work History
Staked as the Ross cl (Y71079) in Dec/72 by Cream Silver ML, which explored by soil sampling and mapping in 1973 and drilled 3 winkie holes (39.6 m) in 1974. Noranda staked the adjoining Mad cl (Y70685) to the southeast at the same time, performed geochem sampling and mapping in 1973 and transferred them to Cream Silver ML in June/76.
Capsule Geology
Soil sampling located three zinc anomalies up to 600 m long, one with peak values in excess of 4000 ppm. Float found in the area of the best anomaly assayed as high as 2.2% Zn. Bedrock in this area is chert and shale of the Ordovician to Lower Devonian Road River Formation. Drill results were inconclusive due to the limited depth capability of the small drill (max. 24 m).
Traces of tetrahedrite and malachite were found with calcite in a graphitic shear zone on the Mad group.
