Work History
Staked as Gord, Walt, and Hall cl (94430) in Oct/65 by W. Hall and sold to Wolf Creek ML, which conducted magnetic, EM and IP surveys in 1966-68 and drilled 3 holes (677.3 m) in 1968. The property was optioned briefly in 1970 by Canex, which conducted more mag and IP surveys and drilled 3 holes (285.9 m).
The area immediately to the south of the occurrence was staked as Wolf cl 1-40 (Y18700) in Jun/67 by Wolf Creek Mines Ltd, which staked Tiza cl 1-33 (Y24322) contiguously to the west in Apr/68 and carried out geochemical soil sampling and magnetometer and EM geophysical surveying later that year.
Restaked as CC cl 1-4 (YC08159) by R. Hamel in Sep/97.
Capsule Geology
Minor amounts of chalcopyrite, molybdenite and valeriite occur in diorite dykes which cut greywacke, conglomerate and quartzite of the Laberge group. Geophysical surveys showed a coincident IP anomaly and magnetic low near the intrusive contact, which proved to be caused by disseminated pyrite in carbonaceous shale.
