Work History

Discovered in 1971 by Union Carbide but first staked as Ivo cl (YA36556) and (F02066) in May/79 by CUB JV (Cassiar Res L, Highland-Crow Res L and Union Carbide), which explored with mapping and grid geochem sampling in 1979, substantially enlarged the property and performed additional mapping, sampling, EM and mag surveys in 1980 and 1981, and drilled 12 holes (1222 m) in 1981.
In 1988, Highland-Crow amalgamated with Emerald Lake Res Inc and Noramco Mg Corp under the name of Noramco.

Capsule Geology

Fifteen separate showings have been found near the margins of two Cretaceous or Tertiary stocks. Mineralization consists of scheelite and molybdoscheelite with pyrrhotite and minor molybdenite in diopside-garnet skarns formed in Lower Cambrian phyllite, quartzite, limestone and dolomite. Grades range from 0.5% to 3.0% WO3 but most mineralization has been found in small pods. A geophysical anomaly found in an overburden-covered area was drilled, and intersected 7.6 m grading 0.44% WO3.
